PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana is a flagship skill development program initiated by the Narendra Modi Government in 2015. It has bagged immense recognition and acceptance among growing youths and employers. Millions of unskilled youths have enrolled in the categories of short-term skill training courses, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), and special projects of governmental and other corporate establishments. The scheme is implemented through two different components called Centrally Sponsored Centrally Managed (CSCM) and Centrally Sponsored State Managed ( CSSM).
India is a fast-growing emerging economy, participation of skilled youths is the key to changing the country to the next level. India and its liberal policies in the education sector are enrolling and producing millions of graduates and post-graduates every year, but lack pragmatic skills to work in industrial and other service sectors. Government targets to pump highly competent and work-ready professionals from broad and diverse backgrounds into the employment market. Employers and corporates can hire work-ready professionals thereby reducing their training cost and time to induct and integrate them into the team.
