In 2022, University Grant Commission has launched e-Samadhan portal, a grievance redressal system for its stakeholders. According to UGC, the resolution of Institutional Entity Grievances has been a top priority of University Grant Commission. The single window centralized portal can monitor and resolve all grievances of students and staff members in varsities and colleges in a timely manner. UGC and it’s stakeholders already have many grievance redressal systems, but new portal will merge all existing portals into single one called e-Samadhan. UGC’s anti-ragging helpline service will remain unchanged. A toll free number of 1800-111-656 will be available 24×7 for complaints by its stakeholders and they can lodge complaints through portal by using email ID.
According to UGC, e-Samadhan ensures transparency in monitoring and resolving complaints and prevents all unfair practices. Earlier UGC had provided many platforms for its stakeholders for grievances redressal, but lack of a single window system, grievances have been recorded multiple times in different platforms which delayed redressal actions.
