Vikram-S, India’s first private rocket

VIKRAM-S is India’s first private rocket which was launched from ISRO’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. Skyroot Aerospace, a startup from Hyderabad designed and developed Vikram-S rocket. The mission, dubbed as “Prarambh” has become a milestone in the participation of private sector in India’s space launch. Vikram-S is a suborbital flight and is a forerunner of Skyroot’s orbital flight.

Vikram-S was launched on November 18, 2022 and rocket achieved a height of 89.5 kilometers. Skyroots Aerospace has received assistance from Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACE).
