Ombudsperson App is a MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) app developed by Ministry of Rural Development to make MNREG more transparent and make duty of Ombudspersons more transparent and accountable. The Ombudspersons App was designed for smooth reporting and categorization of grievances and its redressal by Ombudspersons based on the complaints received from various sources. This app will help Ombudspersons and Government to track complaints and its redressal. The app also provides to print out different kinds of reports.
According to guidelines of Ministry of Rural Development, an Ombudsman is appointed to each district to receive grievances, enquiring and passing awards . Before launching Ombudspersons, reporting of complaints, disposal of complaints and passing award were done physically. Many districts in the country which were still running without Ombudspersons.
