Nikarshan Sadan Dredging Museum

Nikarshan Sadan Dredging Museum is a museum built by Dredging Corporation of India. It was inaugurated on February 23, 2022 by then Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal at eastern port city of Visakhapatnam. It will showcase different types of dredgers, historical milestones and vintage photos.

It was inaugurated on the occasion of Dredging Corporation of India’s (DCI) 45th years of celebration of its foundation. Union Minister also inaugurated CEMS (Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding) in the occasion.

Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) which was established in 1976 to provide dredging services to all major and minor ports in India. DCI is the leading organization in the field of dredging and maritime development. It is headquartered at Visakhapatnam.DCI also provides its services outside India. Dredging is a procedure to remove silt from the bottom of different water bodies for a variety of reasons like for anchoring ships on port.
