Choolur is a small village in Chathamangalam panchayath of Kozhikode district, Kerala. This village is situated 4 kilometers away from Kattangal town, commercial headquarters of Chathamangalam panchayath. Choolur is a beautiful picturesque village with paddy fields and coconut trees.

Choolur is well connected by roads. Kattangal – Mavoor road is passing through the village. Mukkam – Kunnamangalam road is passing through neighboring Kattangal. Kattangal is a main junction town and regular bus services are available to Kozhikode, Mukkam and Koduvally.

Choolur hosts MVR Cancer centre and research institute, one of the finest Cancer centre in Malabar region. It named after MV Raghavan, a former minister of Kerala. It is one of the successful examples of Kerala cooperative sector. MVR Cancer centre is located in the midst of beautiful coconut plantations. MVR Cancer centre is 300 bedded hospital with 35 cancer related departments and also equipped with state of the art technology for cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Choolur has a primary health centre which serves surrounding areas.

Choolur is located 4 kilometers away from National institute of Technology Kozhikode (NIT).

Coconut, arecanut, rice, tapioca and banana are the major crops cultivated here.

Choolur is a Hindu majority village. CPIM is the major political party here. BJP and Congress has many followers.
