Karma road is a beautiful and picturesque tourist destination in Ponnani of Malappuram district, Kerala. It is a 6 kilometer long road parallel along the coast of Bharathappuzha or Nila river. This road is also known as “Nilayorapatha”. Karma road offers a perfect choice to enjoy the river Nila, second longest river in Kerala.

Karma road starts from Chamravattom kadavu near Nariparambu. After a long journey of 209 kilometers originating from Western Ghat mountain, entering Kerala through Palakkad Gap, wandering through villages of Palakkad and Malappuram districts and discharges into Arabian sea at Ponnani. Spectators are blessed here with delightful panorama of unhurried flow of Nila, lush green islands and scenic Padinjarekkara beach. Big boats and speed boat services are available for tourists.

Visitors are bestowed a stunning view of Chamravattom Regulator bridge from the beginning of the road. Chamravattom RCB is the largest RCB (Regulator Cum Bridge) across the Bharathappuzha in Kerala with a length of 978 meter. This bridge was inaugurated on 17 May 2012 by then Chief minister of Kerala Oommen Chandy. Chamravattom RCB connects both Ponnani and Tirur taluks. This bridge lessens the length of Kozhokode to Kochi more than half an hour.
