West Mampetta

West Mampetta is a small junction in Mukkam municipality of Kozhikode district, Kerala. It is an extended part of Mampetta. Mukkam town is situated just 4 kilometers away from West Mampetta. It lies on the busy Mukkam – Kozhikode road. Mukkam bypass road starts from West Mampetta. This bypass helps to reach Mukkam town without any traffic delays.

West Mampetta is predominantly an agrarian village where there are vast paddy fields. Mampetta and Manassery are the major producers of banana. Due to proximity to Mukkam town, farmers can sell banana easily. Mukkam is a major commercial and business centre of this area.

With the arrival of KMCT Medical college and Dental college, West Mampetta has attained importance. Many people from West Mampetta work different departments of KMCT. There is a better autorikshaw services available from West Mampetta to KMCT hospital.

Don Bosco College

It is one of the prominent educational institutions in Mukkam municipality. It was established by salesians of Don Bosco. Initially started as Industrial Training Centre, later turned into a college affiliated to University of Calicut. The college is part of the worldwide Don Bosco institutions. Don Bosco Mampetta offers UG and PG courses. B.com, BBA, BCA, BA are the UG courses provided. M.com post graduation course is also provided. Don Bosco is a pioneer institute in providing job skills in different categories.

KMCT

KMCT Group of institutions is one of the largest groups of educational institutions in Kerala. It was established by Dr. K.Moidu, a leading medical practitioner in Kozhikode. KMCT Medical college, KMCT Dental college, KMCT Ayurveda college and National College of Pharmacy are located in West Mampetta.
