Ungalai Thedi Ungal Ooril

Ungalai Thedi Ungal Ooril is an ambitious public interaction scheme of Tamilnadu government under chief minister M.K Stalin in 2023. It mainly envisions to strengthen monotoring of ongoing infrastructural development and to make sure timely delivery of government services and schemes to the people of Tamilnadu.

According to the scheme, district administration including Collector and higher officials will spend a day in one Oor or place every month to carry out scheme. A state like Tamilnadu where a huge number of population live in remote villages, need to be revitalised to tackle growing state and national issues related to inclusive growth. The scheme will enable, all heads of the government departments like hospitals, schools, local administration offices etc., to conduct a deep assessment of their problems to present to the district officials while they are visiting. The 24 hour visit will commence from 9:00 AM to 9:00 AM next day. According to guidelines, distric administration will formulate taluk wise teams and sub teams to cover maximum areas in the districts. The team will assess the progress of ongoing projects, operations of government offices, cleanliness and drinking water supply of the area. Another important feature of this scheme is meeting with shortlisted representatives from the village and collecting petitions from residents.

Besides inspecting all goverment institutions like hospital, anganwadis, village offices and etc., officials verify all operational mechanisms are in order.

Ungalai Thedi Ungal Ooril scheme was launched to fullfill C N Annadurai’s theory which advocates politicians to reach out more with rural population.
