INS Kadmatt

The firepower of Indian Navy, INS Kadmatt is India’s indigenously built stealth anti-submarine warfare corvetteof Indian Navy. It is named after one of the largest Lakshadweep group of islands, Kadmatt. INS Kadmatt was designed by Indian Navy’s inhouse organization, Directorate of Naval Design and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited, Kolkata. INS Kadmatt was commissioned on 7 January, 2016 for Eastern Naval Command.

INS Kadmatt also known as P29 bears the legacy of her predecessor INS Kadmatt (P78) which stopped its service in November 30,1992 after a long 24 years service from December 23, 1968.

As per Indian Navy, INS Kadmatt has achieved 90 percent indigenisation in Float, Move and Fight components. The vessel has a displacement of 3000 tonnes with a length of 109 meter and 12.8 meter beam powered by four diesel engines.

INS Kadmatt holds advanced technologies like Total Atmospheric Control System (TACS), Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS), Integrated Bridge System (IBS), Battle Damage Control System (BDCS) and Personnel Locator System (PLS).

INS Kadmatt in Overseas

INS Kadmatt visited Indonesia in 2017 to commemorate the 25 years of Indo-Asean partnership and to strengthen the bilateral relationship between India and Indonesia. Naval exercises and interactions were held.

Along with INS Sahyadri, INS Kadmatt visited Singapore from 1 – 3 July, 2022. Indian Navy participated interactions with Republic of Singapore Navy to enhance mutual cooperation between two countries.
