Mampetta is a small junction town in Mukkam municipality of Kozhikode district, Kerala. It lies on Mukkam – Kozhikode road. The town has roads to all four directions. Vattoliparambu Ambalakandy road on north side and Mukkam bypass road on south.
Mampetta town is located between Agasthyamuzhi and West Mampetta town. The town is well connected by roads. There is regular bus services on Mukkam Kozhikode road. Mukkam town is situated just 2 kilometers away from Mampetta.
Mampetta is predominantly an agrarian village. There are vast paddy fields on the southern part of Mampetta. Rice and banana are the main crops cultivated here. Mampetta and Manassery are the major producers of banana. Proximity to Mukkam town provides farmers easy access to the fertilizers and market. Mukkam is one of the major commercial and business centre of this area.
Don Bosco college
It is one of the prominent educational institutions in Mukkam municipality. It was established by salesians of Don Bosco. Initially started as Industrial Training Centre, later turned into a college affiliated to University of Calicut. The college is part of the worldwide Don Bosco institutions. Don Bosco Mampetta offers UG and PG courses. B.com, BBA, BCA, BA are the UG courses provided. M.com post graduation course is also provided. Don Bosco is a pioneer institute in providing job skills in different categories.
